Elevator Malfunction

Each elevator has a (red) ALARM button in case of any emergency. Should the elevator stop and the doors do not open, remain calm. There is no danger, the car will not fall. Press the (red) ALARM button and it will sound at the Lobby Reception Desk. Each elevator also has an in-cab intercom allowing you to speak directly with the lobby security officer. The security officer will immediately call the appropriate personnel at the elevator company to alleviate the problem.

Please report any elevator malfunctions (i.e., doors not closing properly, elevator cab not leveling with floor, call button lights) by contacting the Office of the Building or by entering the request in the Service Request System (opens in new window).

In the event of a power outage, a single elevator in each elevator group will continue to operate using the Building's emergency power generator. Should an outage occur, elevator lights will remain on, but all cars except the single emergency elevator will temporarily cease moving. Each of these non-emergency elevators will automatically return to the Main Lobby, their doors will open, and they will remain inoperable until the power has been restored.

IN THE EVENT OF A FIRE, ELEVATORS MUST NOT BE USED FOR EVACUATION. USE THE STAIRWELLS.
